INTER BALT was established in early 2004 as a result of the restructuring of Węglokoks Joint-Stock Company in Katowice.
The Company was established on the basis of two independent marine branches, with four port offices of the Katowice-based hard coal exporter in Gdańsk, Gdynia, Szczecin and Świnoujście. The offices were located near the Northern Port quays, in the area of the Górniczy Basin in Gdańsk, and in Bulk Terminals in the cities listed above.
INTER BALT started its activities with comprehensive coal forwarding services in Polish sea ports. Over a short period of time, the Company considerably diversified its scope of services offered and strengthened its market position The existing services were expanded to include nationwide and international forwarding services for various bulk and general cargo in export, import, intra-Community trade and transit. The Company expanded its activities with agency services of ships in sea ports, ship charters, coal trade in the domestic market and a point of sale of lump coal.
After 10 years of operations on its own, INTER BALT developed a stable position and is well known as a reliable partner in logistics, domestic and international forwarding, and as an agency company which provides services to shipowners in ports and shipyards. Over these years, a team of qualified personnel provided forwarding services which covered more than 70m tons of bulk goods, mostly transported through Polish sea ports.
